I&#8217;m not a great Beaujolais drinker, typically getting through only 1 or 2 a year, but when a vintage is pronounced exceptional then I will always buy a bottle or two to try.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Cave du Chateau de Chenas\" href=\"http:\/\/cavedechenas.com\/front-page.php\">Cave du Ch\u00e2teau de Ch\u00e9nas<\/a> 2009 Fleurie<\/strong> came from my local Co-op store in Prudhoe in February this year for a very reasonable \u00a36.99. At 13% abv it is lighter than many a red wine available today, but is the better for it as I&#8217;ve had a couple of glasses already and still feel that I can competently type without spell-checking every second word!<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northeastwine.org.uk\/Blog\/a-2009-beaujolais\/chateau-de-chenas-2009-fleurie\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-206\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-206\" title=\"Chateau de Chenas 2009 Fleurie\" src=\"https:\/\/www.northeastwine.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Chateau-de-Chenas-2009-Fleurie.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"319\" height=\"426\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.northeastwine.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Chateau-de-Chenas-2009-Fleurie.jpg 520w, https:\/\/www.northeastwine.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Chateau-de-Chenas-2009-Fleurie-112x150.jpg 112w, https:\/\/www.northeastwine.org.uk\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Chateau-de-Chenas-2009-Fleurie-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 319px) 100vw, 319px\" \/><\/a><strong>Tasting Notes. <\/strong><br \/>\nA vibrant young colour, deep red\/magenta. This has fresh and fruity aromas in the glass, light red berries. It is gentle in the mouth, sweet fruit (heading towards blueberry bubblegum), light tannins and balanced acidity.<br \/>\nLightly chilled this is a very easy drinking wine, not too complex, but well made and great value. 87-88pts (3 star).<\/p>\n<p>I have two more &#8217;09 Beaujolais left for future drinking, a Louis Latour Brouilly and a C\u00f4te du Py Morgon.
