Wines Region Country Source Cost Comments Type
1. Plantagenet 2011 Omrah Chardonnay, Great Southern Western Australia Australia Secret Cellar £12.83 13.5%. Fresh, light nose with an initial citrus zest – lemon curd - going buttery on the mid-palate. Light fruit and a soft finish, a pleasant drink.
2. Plantagenet 2012 Mount Barker Chardonnay, Great Southern
Western Australia Australia Secret Cellar £19 13.7%. A woody, caramel nose. Smooth approach with (too) delicate flavours and prominent oak for what is a light wine.
3. Plantagenet 2012 Omrah Pinot Noir, Great Southern
Western Australia Australia Secret Cellar £13.78 13.5%. Colour suggests more age than on the label. Soft approach and really creamy, light red-berry, almost candy fruit. Very drinkable with a light peppery finish.
4. Moss Wood 2011 Amy's Blend, Margaret River
Western Australia Australia Secret Cellar £16.15 14.5%. Very dark colour and an interesting nose; savoury, some acetone, prune (Port-like) and a little bacon! It all works though!. Spicy on the palate with minty edges, blackcurrant and moderate tannins. Very well integrated, smooth going into soft then finishing a little flabby.
5. Moss Wood 2011 Ribbon Vale Cabernet Sauvignon, Margaret River
Western Australia Australia Secret Cellar £21.85  14%. Tar and rubber nose with smoky blackcurrant poking through. Cool approach with some smoke, good fruit with some graphite edges and liquorice going into a long, lingering finish. Soft, woody tannins are well integrated into this well balanced wine with hints of coffee & mocha. Lovely.
6. Plantagenet 2009 Mount Barker Cabernet Sauvignon,
Great Southern
Western Australia Australia Secret Cellar £22.80 13.5%. A promising nose; rich, deep and spicy. Mature fruit with lovely acidity and an earthy, raw dryness and woody tannins. A meaty wine but with a light finish and disappointing staying power in the glass.
7. Moss Wood 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon, Margaret River
Western Australia Australia Secret Cellar £42.75 14.5%. A very good nose; coffee and caramel nose with a hint of boot polish and brown bananas. Light on the palate, with minty edges, integrated tannins and a delicate finish. The wine has a lovely lightness of style.
8.  Moss Wood 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, Margaret River
Western Australia Australia Fraziers £46.95 14%. A complete nose, it just smells mature and integrated! Cool and minty on the palate with smooth tannins but still dry. Perfumed with floral edges, needs more time.
